Full-time college students (age 18+) save $3 per ticket in Areas 1 and 1A and $6 in Areas 2-4.
Children (ages 12-17) save $10 in Areas 1A and 1 and 50% in Areas 2, 3 and 4.

Interested in a season ticket package? Student discounts are available for full-time students age 12 and over. Please submit proof of full-time status for college undergrad students and name of middle or high school for younger students.


The 30 Below ticket program is for audience members 30 years old and younger. Buy tickets at rush line prices any time, day of show, without having to wait in line. Patrons taking part in 30 Below can buy up to three additional discounted tickets for accompanying guests who are not enrolled in the program.

To sign up, present proof of age in person at the Guthrie Box Office. Once enrolled, tickets can be purchased by phone or in person any time, day of show. Members will also receive additional special offers throughout the season.

The Guthrie Theater welcomes US military personnel, their spouses, children, and US veterans! The Guthrie has a steadfast commitment to military personnel and veterans in our community, and we welcome you to our theater!

We offer 15% off full priced tickets for military personnel, veterans, and their immediate families. Discount does not apply to concerts, Gala performances and select performances of A Christmas Carol.

Blue Star Theatres is a program of Blue Star Families and Theatre Communications Group, with support from the MetLife Foundation.


Guthrie Gateway Tickets are just $5 and provide patrons with limited income the opportunity to attend Guthrie performances.

To qualify, you must be at least 18 and enrolled in one or more of the following: TANF, MFIP, WIC, General Assistance, Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, Supplemental Security Income, Social Security Disability Benefits, Food Stamps, Section 8 or Free/Reduced Price School Meals. Proof of enrollment in one of these programs is required.

Present your Photo ID and one of the following documents in person at the Box Office: EBT card, medical assistance card, Section 8 document, WIC folder, Supplemental Security Income verification, Social Security Disability Benefits verification, free/reduced school meal approval, RCA card (Refugee Cash Assistance), General Assistance verification.

Once enrolled, tickets may be purchased over the phone. Enrollment is valid for one year, after which participants must renew by presenting valid documentation to the Box Office. Not valid for A Christmas Carol, concerts or special presentation. Tickets subject to availability.

Dates for Gateway Tickets

The Tuesday prior to the first preview of each show, valid Gateway performance dates will be listed on the Guthrie website and an e-mail sent to participants who have provided an e-mail address. Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office or over the phone with no handling fees. Limit four tickets per person.


The spirit of T.O.P. lies in the Guthrie’s partnerships with area social service agencies. Together we provide $2 tickets to members of the Twin Cities community who do not have the means to attend Guthrie performances at full price.

To qualify, partners must be government agencies or current 501c3 organizations. Ticket recipients must be individuals who would be financially unable to attend a Guthrie performance were it not for the discounted tickets and the direct involvement of the organization serving them.

Playwrights Welcome is a new program to provide free access to theater for Dramatists Guild of America Members, developed by Samuel French along with Dramatists Play Service, Dramatic Publishing, Music Theatre International, Playscripts and Rodgers and Hammerstein. To receive a ticket through Playwrights Welcome at Guthrie, Dramatists Guild members may present their membership card at the Box Office starting two hours prior to any performance and receive one complimentary ticket to any Guthrie mainstage production.
