BUILDING AND FACILITIES

*A public space, open every day from 8 a.m. to midnight.

*Three theaters: an 1,100-seat thrust, a 700-seat proscenium, and a 200-seat studio.

*An 1,000-car parking garage is conveniently located across from Second Street.

*The main floor Guthrie Store carries ware from theater books to handcrafted jewelry and glassware.

*Actor housing includes completely furnished apartments and lofts within four blocks of the theater, with in-unit washer/dryer, workout rooms on-site and full kitchen.  

*The cantilevered endless bridge extends the equivalent of 12 stories (178 ft.) toward the Mississippi River. It is the longest occupyable cantilevered structure in the world.

*The twilight-blue metal façade blends with the evening sky, highlighting eight large-scale images from past Guthrie productions screen-printed directly onto the steel panels.

*Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel.

THE COMMUNITY

*Minnesota is home to 19 Fortune 500 companies, including 3M, Best Buy, General Mills and Target.

*In 1976, 23 Minnesota companies started The 5% Club (now called the Minnesota Keystone Program) to recognize charitable giving and to set an example for other Minnesota companies. Today nearly 200 companies are Keystone members, committed to donating 2 to 5 percent of their pre-tax earnings to the community.

*4,200 individuals, corporations and foundations contributed to the Guthrie on the River campaign, which raised $93 million, a record amount for the American theater.
