The Guthrie Theater’s award-winning Access Services programs ensure that world-class theater is available to everyone in our community. Each year, more than 40,000 patrons take advantage of the Theater’s Access Services programs for patrons with disabilities or economic barriers.

For patrons who are Deaf or hard of hearing, the Guthrie offers a wide range of services, including: Assistive Listening Devices, ASL Interpreted Performances and Open Captioning

Patrons who are blind or have low vision can access services such as: Audio Described Performances, Sensory Tours and Large Print and Braille Programs

Patrons with mobility impairments can find wheelchair and accessible seating in all three theaters. Courtesy wheelchairs are available for loan at the Guthrie’s Concierge Desk.

For patrons with economic barriers, the Guthrie offers several programs, including the Ticket Opportunity Program, which makes $2 tickets available to social service organizations such as Courage Center and Lutheran Social Services for use by their clients.

Last December, Mandy Frederickson, an English teacher at the Metro Deaf School - Minnesota North Star Academy, had the opportunity to bring her 90 low-income students to see a performance of A Christmas Carol.  The Guthrie was able to provide these students with fully subsidized tickets, open captioning, and ASL interpreters.
