Position Purpose:
To solicit gifts in support of
the Guthrie's Annual Fund in order to meet and exceed yearly goals. To serve as
an ambassador by sharing information about Guthrie productions and programs,
answering questions and directing concerns to the appropriate person or
department within the theater.
Key Result Areas:
- Increase donor support for the Guthrie by calling patrons and using approved telefund strategies to secure gifts and pledges.
- Represent the Guthrie Theater in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Anticipate and overcome patron objections by using persuasive responses.
- Meet the minimum schedule requirements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma. Experience in telefundraising, sales and/or customer service preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Guthrie productions and programs.
- Enthusiasm and passion for the arts, especially theater.
- Strong communication skills, especially a high comfort level with cold calling.
- Ability to solicit gifts to support the Annual Fund.
- Strong organizational skills, especially with details and numbers.
- Ability to listen actively and respond quickly to patrons.
- Ability to work 12-24 hours per week.
- Ability to work evenings from 5 to 9 and Saturdays 9:30 to 1:30.
