ATTEND WORKSHOPS
Do you ever need to take a full-length play and cut it down to a one-act, a scene or a required number of minutes? Do you need to create a set with whatever is in your garage, basement or attic? This year’s conference, "Adaptation Station," will help you answer these questions and more, providing you with the resources you’ve told us you need.
Fundamental to our conference are a series of workshops where teachers and students join together and gain hands-on experience. From music, to acting, to comedy, to adapting everything from a play, a musical, a set or props, you’ll leave our workshops more resourceful, creative and imaginative – ready to tackle any play, scene or one-act that comes your way. And we know that teams who participate in the conference often represent just a portion of their schools’ theater department/students; workshops are a chance to not only learn how to do something, but how to share it when you are back at school.
All Guthrie workshops are devised to give teachers and students a chance to learn directly from Guthrie actors, visiting artists and Guthrie scenery/prop shop staff.
