ERIN SCHWAB AND MAUD HIXSON ARE
COWARD'S WOMEN
IN PRODUCING HOUSE'S MUSICAL PRODUCTION
TO BE PRESENTED AT THE GUTHRIE

Playing March 30 - April 3, 2010 in the Dowling Studio at the Guthrie

(Minneapolis/St. Paul) The Guthrie is pleased to present Producing House's production of Coward's Women, March 30 - April 3 in the Dowling Studio. A musical celebration of Noël Coward and the women who influenced him, director Michael Todaro conceived the piece as a way to look at the famous writer's most defining relationships with some of history's greatest women. The 65-minute production features Twin Cities mainstays Erin Schwab and Maud Hixson, along with pianist Rick Carlson and a dynamic four-piece combo. Single tickets range from $18 to $30, and are available from the Guthrie box office at 612-377-2224 or online at http://www.guthrietheater.org/.

Schwab and Hixson each represent the true duality of Coward as a person and a performer - the Glamorous Performer and the True Tactician, The Wit and the Wisdom, The Bawdy and The Introspective. Both are destined to delight in the production fused by 16 of Coward's songs, and feature his most influential women in their own words. "The music includes some of Coward's well known songs, as well as a few lesser known pieces," says director Todaro. "All of them touch on different parts of the relationships that defined Coward as an artist and as a person." The production will also include text from Coward's letters and autobiography, offering a deeper look in to the writer.
