Guthrie to present Interact Theater's international collaboration by Kevin Kling

The Guthrie will present Northern Lights/Southern Cross: Tales from the Other Side of the World, an international collaboration between Interact Theater and Australia's Tutti Ensemble, companies both comprised largely of artists with disabilities. An epic tale spanning cultures and hemispheres, acclaimed actor/playwright/storyteller Kevin Kling shares his story of personal growth and rebirth, in the production directed by Interact artistic director Jeanne Calvit, with original music by Tutti Ensemble's Pat Rix.

"Tiny Kushner" cast heading to Berkeley

The Guthrie today announced that Tiny Kushner, slated for an October 16 through November 28 run at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, will be a co-production between the two theaters. The evening of short plays by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner premiered at the Guthrie on May 20 as part of its highly successful Kushner Celebration. Long-time Kushner collaborator and Berkeley Rep Artistic Director Tony Taccone again directs the production, which features four Guthrie favorites - J.C. Cutler (Major Barbara), Kate Eifrig (9 Parts of Desire), Jim Lichtscheidl (The Two Gentlemen of Verona) and Valeri Mudek (A Midsummer Night's Dream) - performing multiple roles in five works by Kushner.

Cast and creative team announced for EARNEST

The Guthrie today announced the complete cast and creative team for director Joe Dowling's upcoming production of Oscar Wilde's most perfect comedy The Importance of Being Earnest, with actress Linda Thorson (best known for her role as Tara King in the classic 1960s British television series "The Avengers") leading the company as Lady Bracknell. Thorson will be joined onstage by John Skelley, a 2007 graduate of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program and star of the 2009 Minnesota Fringe Festival audience favorite Jurassic Dork, as Algernon Moncrieff, with 2005 Juilliard graduate and rising film actor Nick Mennell playing Jack Worthing.
