Tickets are now on sale for the one-night-only reading of The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, the compelling and groundbreaking epilogue to the play The Laramie Project, which was written in response to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard.

The Guthrie will present Northern Lights/Southern Cross: Tales from the Other Side of the World, an international collaboration between Interact Theater and Australia's Tutti Ensemble, companies both comprised largely of artists with disabilities. An epic tale spanning cultures and hemispheres, acclaimed actor/playwright/storyteller Kevin Kling shares his story of personal growth and rebirth, in the production directed by Interact artistic director Jeanne Calvit, with original music by Tutti Ensemble's Pat Rix.

The Guthrie will present Tales from the Book of Longing conceived, directed and choreographed by Stuart Pimsler with Suzanne Costello, founders and artistic co-directors of the nationally-acclaimed Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater (SPDT).

The Guthrie today announced that Tiny Kushner, slated for an October 16 through November 28 run at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, will be a co-production between the two theaters. The evening of short plays by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner premiered at the Guthrie on May 20 as part of its highly successful Kushner Celebration. Long-time Kushner collaborator and Berkeley Rep Artistic Director Tony Taccone again directs the production, which features four Guthrie favorites - J.C. Cutler (Major Barbara), Kate Eifrig (9 Parts of Desire), Jim Lichtscheidl (The Two Gentlemen of Verona) and Valeri Mudek (A Midsummer Night's Dream) - performing multiple roles in five works by Kushner.

The Guthrie today announced that Ella - after continuing to receive rousing nightly ovations - will extend its stay on the McGuire Proscenium Stage through September 20, adding 12 performances to meet audience demand. Hailed by the Star Tribune for her "pitch-perfect scattitude," actress Tina Fabrique leads the cast of this exhilarating musical, weaving myth, memory and music to tell the uplifting and poignant story of one of the greatest jazz and pop vocalists of the 20th century.

The Guthrie today announced the complete cast and creative team for director Joe Dowling's upcoming production of Oscar Wilde's most perfect comedy The Importance of Being Earnest, with actress Linda Thorson (best known for her role as Tara King in the classic 1960s British television series "The Avengers") leading the company as Lady Bracknell. Thorson will be joined onstage by John Skelley, a 2007 graduate of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program and star of the 2009 Minnesota Fringe Festival audience favorite Jurassic Dork, as Algernon Moncrieff, with 2005 Juilliard graduate and rising film actor Nick Mennell playing Jack Worthing.

The Guthrie will present the world premiere production of Super Monkey by award-winning theater-maker Jon Ferguson, September 17 - October 4 in the Dowling Studio.

The Guthrie is proud to present Chain of Fools, one of the culminating activities of the 2009 Guthrie Experience for Actors in Training program, highlighting the talents of young actors from advanced actor training programs around the country.
