Guthrie Theater

My family and I are Shakespeare fans, and I am a season ticket holder at the Guthrie. For Christmas one year, I bought my family tickets to Hamlet, the last play at the old Guthrie site. My parents live out of town and had never visited the Guthrie. As we perused the program, my dad, an Iowa farm boy, noticed that Hamlet had played before at the Guthrie. It was then that he remembered he had in fact been to the theater once before. As a young boy, his parents took him to see Hamlet at the original opening of the Guthrie in 1963. Hopefully it won't be another 43 years before I get him back to the theater!
