Volunteer Rewards

(page last updated on 8/31/2010)

Volunteering for the Guthrie is rewarding in many ways!

Rewards coupons for hours worked in the month of July were mailed on Wednesday, August 4.

Please note that the volunteer rewards are like cash. They are not replaceable if lost or stolen. Also, once they expire, they cannot be reissued or extended. Please do not ask for a replacement or an extension. They are good for use for six months. Please check the dates on the rewards carefully and always use the oldest coupons first.

Backstage Tour or Audio Tour

 Reward Hour each ticket

Backstage tours offer a behind-the-scenes look at how Guthrie shows are taken from script to stage. In 45 minutes, you'll visit the Guthrie's signature thrust and proscenium stages; enter the expansive scene shop where sets are built and painted, and learn how they're transported to each stage; visit the shop where costumes are expertly stitched, fabrics dyed and wigs constructed; and explore the rehearsal rooms where company members prepare for performance.

Backstage tours are scheduled Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. Call the Box Office at 612.377.2224 or visit in person to arrange for tickets.
Audio Tours - Explore your public spaces -- from the amber box to the endless bridge -- with a self-guided iPod audio tour.

Narrated by Director Joe Dowling and Guthrie actors, the tour touches on the institution's rich past and the building's modern design by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, allowing you to explore the Guthrie at your own pace.

Download the FREE audio tour as a podcast on iTunes, or visit the Box Office with your rewards coupon(s) to check out an iPod. Box Office hours vary.
