Purpose
An internship in Education and Community Programs will provide the opportunity for the intern to participate in the educational process at the Guthrie Theater. A Guthrie Theater staff member will supervise the intern.
Prerequisites
The intern should have a commitment to theater and a sincere interest in sharing this experience with students. Strong communication skills and the ability to function as a member of a team, or independently, is essential. It is expected that the intern will initiate and follow through on projects. General knowledge of the theater and the educational process are preferred. Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills are essential; knowledge of general office procedure is helpful.
What to Expect
The intern should expect a variety of projects and special assignments. Conference management, proposal writing, study guides, the theater newsletter, and coordinating programs for teachers and students may be part of this internship experience.
Time Commitment
An internship of three months or more is expected with a commitment of at least fifteen hours per week.
