An internship in Education and Community Programs will provide the opportunity for the intern to participate in the educational process at the Guthrie Theater.
The intern should have a commitment to theater and a sincere interest in sharing this experience with students. Strong communication skills and the ability to function as a member of a team, or independently, is essential. It is expected that the intern will initiate and follow through on projects. General knowledge of the theater and the educational process are preferred. Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills are essential; knowledge of general office procedure is helpful. Seeking those who are upper level undergraduates (junior or senior), graduate students or those who have already attained their undergraduate degree to apply.
The intern should expect a variety of projects and special assignments. Corporate events management, continuing legal education programming, educator workshops, proposal writing, study guides, the theater newsletter, student matinee presentations and coordinating programs for teachers and students in the Guthrie Learning Center may be part of this internship experience.
Currently seeking an intern to work from Jan 2, 2010 - May 31, 2010. Applicants must be able to commit to least fifteen hours per week. The shifts will be mostly daytime with some evening hours.
