Ivey Awards honor PINAFORE's David Bolger and reasons' Anna Sundberg

The Twin Cities theater community gathered on Monday, September 19 for the 7th annual Ivey Awards, a celebration that honors and showcases the work of professional theater companies and artists. Among the evening's Ivey recipients was Irish choreographer David Bolger, whose fancy footwork for the Guthrie Theater's 2011 splash-hit production of Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore was heralded as "arresting," "breathtaking," and "awesome."

Tickets for the Guthrie Theater's 37th annual holiday production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol went on sale Tuesday, September 6 at 11 a.m. The production, again under the direction of Joe Dowling, will feature longtime Guthrie actor J. C. Cutler as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Highway ramps to 5th Street and 7th Street in Minneapolis will close this weekend

Drivers should plan ahead and follow posted detours as the ramp from westbound I-94 to 5th Street and the ramp from northbound Highway 55 to 7th Street in Minneapolis close at 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13. The ramps will reopen by late Sunday, Aug. 14, weather permitting.

The closures are needed for resurfacing projects being done by the city of Minneapolis.
