Traffic changes due to bridge collapse
Traffic has been diverted due to the collapse of the Interstate 35W bridge over the Mississippi River, and drivers should expect delays.
Minnesota Highway 280 is the primary route to replace northbound and southbound I-35W traffic. North of the collapsed, traffic on I-35W will stop at the SE 4th Street exit. South of the bridge, all northbound I-35W traffic will be forced to exit onto Washington Avenue.

Directions
FROM THE NORTH: I-35W
Please take the Highway 280 detour (bypassing the 35W bridge over the Mississippi River) and follow directions for "From the East: I-94," or take alternate routes.
FROM THE NORTH: I-94
Heading east on 94, take the 4th Street North exit (230). Turn LEFT onto 3rd Avenue South. Turn RIGHT onto 2nd Street South and go 4 blocks. The Guthrie will be on your left.
FROM THE SOUTH: I-35W
Heading north on 35W, follow the downtown exit to 5th Avenue. Take 5th Avenue to 2nd Street South. Turn right onto 2nd Street South and travel 2 blocks. The Guthrie will be on your left.
FROM THE WEST: I-394
Heading east on 394 to the downtown exits, take the 3rd Avenue/Washington Avenue exit (9C). Take the Washington Avenue ramp. Turn RIGHT onto Washington Avenue. Turn LEFT onto Chicago Avenue South. Turn RIGHT onto 2nd Street South. The Guthrie will be on your left.
FROM THE EAST: I-94
Heading west on 94, take the 5th Street exit. Turn right onto 11th Avenue South. Turn LEFT onto 2nd Street South and go 2 blocks. The Guthrie will be on your right.
Parking
Parking is available in the ramp on South 2nd Street directly across from the Guthrie and in numerous parking lots throughout the neighborhood. The event rate for Guthrie performances is $8. Rates vary during Twins and Vikings games and other area events.
Bus Stop/Light Rail
The nearest MetroTransit bus stop for the Guthrie is the Route 7 or Route 22 stop on the corner of Washington Avenue at Chicago Avenue. For light rail, use the Downtown East/Metrodome Station stop. For more information in planning your trip, visit the MetroTransit website.
