Special "Scottsboro" post-play discussions offered Aug. 28 & 29

SPECIAL POST-PLAY DISCUSSIONS FOR
THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS

SATURDAY, AUGUST 28 AND SUNDAY, AUGUST 29
IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE 1 P.M. MATINEE PERFORMANCES

(Minneapolis/St. Paul) The Guthrie announced today that it will host two special post-play discussions of The Scottsboro Boys, the critically-acclaimed production currently playing to nightly ovations on the McGuire Proscenium Stage at the Guthrie. Based on the notorious "Scottsboro" case in the 1930s, in which nine African American men were unjustly accused of a terrible crime. This chapter in American history, told through the frame of the racially-charged Minstrel show, has evoked huge emotional response from audiences.

These moderated discussions will following the 1 p.m. matinee performances on Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29.
