Guthrie Theater

Hi. It's Mac Rasmus (the child blogger). The show is closing and the cast is sad that we have to part, but we are all hoping that are paths cross again. Although I'm in Jane Eyre (Jane Eyre is coming back by popular demand in March 2008) it is still sad to leave the cast. On a happier note, I have been thinking about what to do for my first, only, and last blog. And the idea that came to me is A Day in the life of Mac Rasmus. Great huh?

1. I arrive at the Guthrie Theater. I wait for the other kids. And we head to our dressing rooms.

2. I sign in at the sign in sheet. At the bottom of the sheet is notes on what we could improve on for this show. The notes are usually like, the show was a little long, pick up your cues, or exit a little softer after a certain scene.

3. I go to the dressing room and I change. I try and have a race with Coco. Coco ( stage manager) calls half hour and by the time Coco calls half hour I will be in my costume and having a person doing my hair.

4. I head to wigs to get my hair done. Where I have this gross substance put in my hair to make it stay in place and so it is easy to work with when I have my quick change( # 10 ).

5. I go to my dressing room to either eat, sleep, play my psp or talk to some of the other cast and crew members.

6. At places call I go up the stairs and up stage to enter the barn doors and onto the stage.

7. I talk to a few audience members and I suck on a few suckers and I have a good time on stage during Peter Gynt's 50th birthday party.

8.After that scene is done, I head out the barn doors down the stairs, have my dresser take off my bow tie, and I head into my dressing room for my quick change.

9. I get into my 18th century clothes, and I run off to wigs (Both nine and ten happen in about 3 minutes).

10. I run off to wigs to get my hair messy (remember I have that gross goo in my hair so it's easy to make messy).

11. After my hair is like a jungle a head back to the stage to go to the wedding.

12. After dancing, laughing, drinking and all sorts of stuff the people do at 19th century weddings, I go back down to my dressing room to put on my 7th layer of clothing for the troll scene.

13. I head into the right vom to enter for the troll scene.

14. After the troll scene I stay backstage for my other troll scene were I go on as Peer Gynt's troll son. I talk to Coco for that whole time that I am waiting to go on.

15. I go on as his son and then I exit in the same place that I entered for the first troll scene. Weird huh?

16. I get ready for the first scene right after intermission. I get into my modern clothes ( I sleep a lot right about now).

17. I go on right after intermission and I stay still for a whole scene with a boat in my hands. At the end of my scene I blow up the boat.

18. I don't need to change clothes for my next entrance so I go back to my nap.

19. I head back up to the stage after my nap to go on for the the insane bin.

20. After that scene I go right back down to change into my 19th century clothes.

21. I go back up to sing the hymn and I exit one of the voms.

22. I change back into my modern clothes for the last time.

23. I go to the hub where I relax and then I come back and go onstage to take my bow.
