From KFAI:
America's leading playwright provocateur, now an octogenarian, Edward Albee always has new plays dancing in his head. A theatrical experimenter whose work jumps the boundaries of American drama.

As described by the playwright himself his plays are "an examination of the American Scene, an attack on the substitution of artificial for real values in our society, a condemnation of complacency, cruelty, and emasculation and vacuity, a stand against the fiction that everything in this slipping land of ours is peachy-keen."

A member of the Dramatists Guild Council, winner of three Pulitzer Prizes and three Tony Awards; a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement (2005); the Gold Medal in Drama from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters; as well as the Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts (both in 1996). Albee is the President of the Edward F. Albee Foundation, Inc. and is a contributing writer to The Gay and Lesbian Review

A Delicate Balance by Edward Albee
Denial of emotions, loss of opportunities and potential, and regret over paths not taken as reflected in the lives of a very well-to-do suburban couple who have retired but find their long-sought freedom about to collapse Guthrie Theater through March 1, 2009.
