Student Matinees

Dickens Holiday Classic

While our stages are dark, we’re continuing our annual A Christmas Carol tradition with a virtual twist. As part of our ongoing commitment to make theater accessible for youth, we’re offering the event to all K–12 schools for free December 15–31.

Laugh, be moved and engage

For many Minnesotans, their introduction to theater was a field trip to the Guthrie where they saw stories onstage that illuminated our common humanity. Through our student matinees, we create a positive learning environment that values thoughtful questioning, recognizes mistakes as learning opportunities, and encourages honest and open dialogue.

Educators are encouraged to use the resources on this page to help create the best educational experience for you and your students at the Guthrie.
