The Guthrie is located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis along the Mississippi River and easily accessible by car and public transit. You’ll find us in between Mill City Museum and Gold Medal Park and just a few blocks away from the Stone Arch Bridge and U.S. Bank Stadium.

Parking

Parking is available in the city-owned Riverfront Ramp on South 2nd Street across from the Guthrie, and the standard event rate is $15 (rate increases to $50 when U.S. Bank Stadium events are scheduled). Within three hours of a Guthrie performance, prepayment by credit card is required. Please take your parking ticket with you for ramp reentry. 

Additional ramps and street parking are available throughout the neighborhood. Download the City of Minneapolis mobile parking app to pay for metered street parking. Most meters near the Guthrie have a two-hour maximum. If you have disability plates or a parking certificate, you may park for up to four hours at a metered space free of charge.

Public transit 

There are several bus and light rail routes with stops near the Guthrie, and you can plan your trip online with Metro Transit or schedule a ride with Metro Mobility. To check for Rider Alerts along your route, visit www.metrotransit.org.

Biking

Patrons and guests who bike to the theater may use the bike racks on the riverfront side of the Guthrie as well as sidewalk bike racks throughout the neighborhood. There are dedicated bike lanes along South 2nd Street that provide additional safety for bike riders. If biking to the Guthrie for a performance, please be aware of high traffic levels at the parking ramp entrances/exits on South 2nd Street and 9th Avenue South.
