A heartwarming holiday classic
The curmudgeonly Ebenezer Scrooge is visited one cold Christmas Eve by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who warns Scrooge to turn from his callous, hard-hearted ways. That night, three spirits carry Scrooge through time — into the shadows of his past, the fragile realities of the present and the lonely fate that awaits if he doesn't have a change of heart. Featuring original music and bursts of festive joy, this faithful adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novella brings the streets of Victorian London to life, celebrating the transformative power of compassion and second chances.
Three things to know
- Faithful to the Dickens tale, Lavina Jadhwani's adaptation carefully tracks the moments when Scrooge becomes a willing participant in his own transformation, from the nostalgia of seeing his boyhood school to the fear that Death will claim him before he can act on his change of heart.
- Approximately 315 props appear in the show, including 15 lanterns, 10 tombstones, 37 presents, 48 nonedible food props and a few edible items for actors to nibble on.
- Budget-conscious? Attend a performance early in the run for greater savings. Tickets start at $36 (handling fees included) for preview performances (November 11–13).
