When Luna and Jane run into each other at the supermarket on Thanksgiving Day, they discover they have much in common — they’re both new to America and spending the holiday alone while their medical-resident husbands work the night away. Longing for connection, the two homesick women return to Luna’s apartment for the evening. Over a bottle of wine (or two), they attempt to make a traditional Thanksgiving meal while sharing their stories and dreams. Set eight years after the Hart-Celler Act of 1965 overhauled the U.S. immigration system, this poignant comedy illuminates the Asian immigrant experience and asks, “Would you give up your heart to make a new home?”

ABOUT Lloyd Suh is the author of plays including The Far Country (2023 Pulitzer Prize finalist), The Heart Sellers, The Chinese Lady, Franklinland, Bina’s Six Apples, American Hwangap and many others. His work has been produced across the country, including at Atlantic Theater Company, The Public Theater, Alliance Theatre, The Huntington and Berkeley Rep; with Ma-Yi Theater Company and Ensemble Studio Theatre, among others; and internationally at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and with Pacific Conservatory Theatre at the Guerilla Theatre in Seoul, South Korea. Awards include the Steinberg Playwright Award, Horton Foote Prize, Herb Alpert Award in the Arts and Guggenheim Fellowship. Suh was elected to the Dramatists Guild Council in 2016 and serves as a Professor of the Practice at Princeton University.
