Previews and studio performances

We strive to keep ticket prices accessible to as many people as possible. Tickets for previews (generally the first five performances) for all mainstage productions start at $15, and tickets for performances in the Dowling Studio start at $9.

Rush tickets

Rush line
If available, rush tickets go on sale at the Box Office 15–30 minutes before mainstage performances. Tickets are sold to patrons in the rush line on a first-come, first-served basis. Cash or check only.

Rush pricing for mainstage shows (excluding A Christmas Carol and musicals):

  • $15 for previews
  • $20 for weekday matinees and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings
  • $25 for weekend matinees and Friday and Saturday evenings

Rush Club
Members of the Rush Club may purchase tickets at rush line prices ahead of the rush line. Up to four tickets may be purchased in person during an exclusive hour-long window on the day of the show. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted. Members also enjoy discounts throughout the year. To join, call or visit the Box Office and provide your contact information.

Rush Club hours:

  • 5:30–6:30 p.m. for Tuesday – Saturday evenings
  • 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. for matinees (excludes 10:30 a.m. performances)
  • 5–6 p.m. for Sunday evenings

All rush tickets are subject to availability.

30 Below

Designed for patrons ages 16 to 30, our 30 Below program allows members to purchase up to four tickets at rush prices without waiting in line. Purchase tickets by phone or in person anytime on the day of the show. Members also receive special offers throughout the season. To join, visit the Box Office and provide your proof of age and contact information.

All rush tickets are subject to availability.

Senior and student tickets

Seniors (65+) and full-time college students (18+) save $3 per ticket in Areas 1 and 1A and $6 per ticket in Areas 2–4. Students (12–17) save $10 per ticket in Areas 1 and 1A and 50% per ticket in Areas 2–4. Excludes tickets $25 or less and select performances of A Christmas Carol.

Discounts on season ticket packages are available for seniors and full-time students. Students must present proof of full-time college status or the name of their middle or high school to the Box Office. Full-time K–12 educators may purchase tickets at the same price as students (call us for details).

Gateway tickets

Gateway tickets are available to patrons with limited income for $5. To qualify, patrons must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in one or more of the following: TANF, MFIP, WIC, General Assistance, Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare, Supplemental Security Income, Social Security Disability Benefits, SNAP, Section 8 or free/reduced school meals.

To enroll, present your photo ID and one of the following documents to the Box Office: EBT card, Medical Assistance card, Section 8 document, WIC folder, Supplemental Security Income verification, Social Security Disability Benefits verification, free/reduced school meals approval, Refugee Cash Assistance card or General Assistance verification.

Up to four tickets may be purchased for select performances by phone or in person at the Box Office. Valid performance dates are posted here on the Tuesday prior to the first performance of each production.

Enrollment is valid for one year. Offer is subject to availability and excludes A Christmas Carol, concerts and presentations.

Ticket Opportunity Program

We partner with social service agencies to offer $2 tickets to patrons with limited income. To qualify, partners must be government agencies or current 501(c)(3) organizations. Contact Group Sales at 612.225.6244 or 1.877.225.6211 (toll-free) or email top@guthrietheater.org for more information.

Blue Star Theatres

We offer 15% off full-price tickets to military personnel, veterans and their immediate families. Up to four tickets may be purchased by phone or in person at the Box Office. Offer is subject to availability and excludes select performances of A Christmas Carol, studio performances, concerts and presentations.

Playwrights Welcome

The Playwrights Welcome initiative offers available tickets to playwrights who are members of the Dramatists Guild of America. Simply present a membership card at the Box Office starting two hours before any mainstage production and receive one complimentary ticket.
